Rangers will wear a brand new uniform, meet up regularly, have fun doing activities together and be recognised for their achievements with badges and awards. The Ranger Programme

    Discovering a world of adventure

    • Build your skills - members of Rangers can take on a vast array of awards and qualifications. These range from our Leadership Qualification - which trains girls to run their own unit - to the internationally recognised Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
    • Support your peers - want to help younger girls to navigate issues like body confidence and mental well-being? Our peer education programme gives members of Rangers the unique opportunity to provide in-unit sessions on issues that affect girls and young women.
    • Raise your voice - Girlguiding is passionate about giving girls a voice. As a member of Rangers, you could join our delegation at the British Youth Council, or shape Girlguiding's own policy and research as part of our fantastic Advocate panel.
    • Travel the world - from working on a development project in a remote village, to representing UK guiding at an international conference, you'll have the chance to take on some life-changing international adventures.

    What happens next?

Parents/carers will complete an initial enquiry online through a dedicated area of the Girlguiding website by clicking the Join Us link below. Your postcode will generate a geomap of the area and a list will appear of the units nearest where you stay. If you require your child to attend a unit in a different area (e.g. near a grandparent, child minder), then you can generate this postcode to find a unit.  You can choose up to three units. Your enquiry is stored on the system and then sent to the first Unit requested. An email is sent to the members of the Unit team to inform them that there has been an enquiry and asking them to log onto Join Us and pick up a message. Your enquiry will be responded to within 21 days.

When you (parent/carer) have completed the enquiry form and submitted it online, you will get a “thank-you for your enquiry” screen which you can chose to print or have sent in an email. The screen will provide then provide you with some key information including timescales and confirmation of what information you have submitted. You will be advised that “a leader will be in touch by 21 days.” If there are spaces available then the leader will contact you inviting your daughter to a meeting. If your daughter chooses to stay in the Unit, the leader will ensure that the “Welcome to Guiding” forms are completed to get all the relevant information on your daughter, i.e. additional needs, allergies, gift aid and photographs.
